An exclusive collaboration between an Cheston Farm Equestrian Centre and Old Brook Farm, to bring to you 'Bridle and Moor' an opportunity to ride the wild with one of Cheston's beautiful Dartmoor seasoned horses and stay in luxury at Old Brook Farm.
This four day equestrian holiday has been carefully planned to bring you the best riding that Dartmoor has to offer.
ITINERARY
Day One: Arrival and horse matching at Cheston Farm Equestrian
Arrive at Cheston Farm Equestrian, where you’ll be warmly welcomed for a personalised rider assessment and horse matching. You will meet your trusted equine partner for the days ahead, carefully selected to complement your skill level and riding style.
Afterward, enjoy a short self-transfer to the enchanting Old Brook Farm, a beautifully restored listed farmhouse steeped in history with views of Dartmoor. Meet your hosts and indulge in a delightful afternoon tea served in the oak-panelled drawing room, complete with freshly baked cakes and a selection of teas. Settle into your beautifully furnished room, overlooking the historic stone barns. Some riders may be sharing a twin room or bathroom.
Gather for evening drinks with your hosts and riding team who will provide a detailed briefing for the adventure ahead. This will be followed by a sumptuous home-cooked supper in the farmhouse dining room.
Day Two: Cheston to Old Brook Farm
After a hearty farmhouse breakfast at Old Brook Farm, self transfer to Cheston Farm for the day’s ride, where your car will remain. Embark on an unforgettable journey across ancient moorland trails, where sweeping views of the rugged Dartmoor landscape meet the distant glimmer of the coast. Light refreshments will be provided during the ride.
Arrive by horseback down an ancient drover’s lane to Old Brook Farm, where a refreshing river dip awaits for those who are keen! Unwind with tea and cake in the tranquil surroundings of the farmhouse drawing room. In the evening, savour a meal at the charming Church House Inn Holne, a quintessential Dartmoor pub with a warm inviting atmosphere, only a short distance from the farm.
Day Three: A day ride from Old Brook Farm
Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast at Old Brook Farm, followed by an optional morning farm walk and river dip to invigorate the senses.
Saddle up for a scenic ride through picturesque countryside, quaint villages, and open moorland. Stop for a traditional pub lunch at a local inn, where your ponies will rest nearby.
Return to Old Brook Farm for a magical evening under the stars with a Moor View Field BBQ (weather permitting), featuring locally sourced produce and fine wines.
Day Four: Old Brook Farm to Cheston Equestrian
After a final farmhouse breakfast, check out of your room and prepare for your last ride. Ride back to Cheston Farm via an alternative route, taking in fresh perspectives of Dartmoor’s breathtaking beauty.
Your bags will be transferred to Cheston Farm, allowing you to relax and enjoy the ride.
Conclude your holiday with hot, freshly baked pasties and heartfelt goodbyes before departing with unforgettable memories of your luxury Dartmoor escape.
